Connect Your MCP Client
Add the Fast Insight MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, or Codex and sign in with OAuth.
For every client below: after adding it, click Connect, sign in to Fast Insight when asked, click Allow, and start chatting.
ChatGPT
In ChatGPT go to Settings → Apps → Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode, then use Create app to register this URL and connect.
https://fastinsight.ai/api/public/mcp
Claude
This link opens Claude's add dialog with the name and URL already filled in:
Or, in Claude go to Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste the server URL above, click Connect, then sign in and allow access.
Prefer to work in plain English? Add the Fast Insight research skill on top of the connector to create, launch, and analyze studies without handling the tools yourself. Upload it under Settings → Capabilities → Skills in Claude.
Codex
-
Open a terminal
Open your terminal.
-
Add the server
codex mcp add fastinsight --url https://fastinsight.ai/api/public/mcp -
Sign in
Sign in to Fast Insight in the browser, allow access, and start using it.
Server URL
https://fastinsight.ai/api/public/mcp
The server uses stateless Streamable HTTP: each request is independent, and there are no long-lived MCP sessions to manage.
First-time sign-in
-
Discovery
Your MCP client finds the OAuth details from the server on its own.
-
Redirect
You are sent to
https://fastinsight.ai/api/oauth/authorize(or asked to sign in first). -
Consent
The consent screen shows which app is asking for access and what it will be allowed to do.
-
Allow
Once you allow it, the client receives an access token and a refresh token.
Token lifetimes
| Token | Lifetime | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Access token | 1 hour | Refreshed automatically by the client |
| Refresh token | 60 days | Allow access again when it expires |
To disconnect, remove the MCP server from your client, or disconnect it under Account settings, "Connected AI tools" (it stops working immediately).
Permissions
When you approve access, the MCP integration can:
- View studies and their details in the workspaces you belong to
- Read transcripts and reports from those studies
- Create draft studies and set their targeting
- Start recruitment (panel recruitment starts only after you review the cost and approve it in Fast Insight)
The integration acts as you and respects the same permissions as the web app. It only sees studies you can already access.
